zero1cine is an independent AI film discovery project. The individual who operates zero1cine is the data controller for the processing described in this notice. You can contact the operator at hello@zero1cine.com.
This notice applies to the public website at zero1cine.com. Services reached through an external link or embedded player also operate under their own privacy terms.
Information we collect
- Newsletter details: your name and email address when you choose to subscribe.
- Usage information: pages viewed, general device and browser details, approximate location, and interactions measured through Google Analytics.
- Technical information: IP address, request details, and security logs that may be processed by our hosting infrastructure to operate and protect the site.
- Information you submit: details you choose to send through director, festival, contact, or other submission forms. Some of these forms are hosted by Google.
Why we use it
We process information only for clear purposes:
- to deliver the newsletter you requested;
- to understand and improve the website and its content;
- to respond to submissions, questions, and privacy requests;
- to prevent abuse, investigate errors, and keep the service secure; and
- to meet legal obligations and protect our legitimate interests.
Depending on the activity, our legal basis may be your consent, performance of a requested service, our legitimate interest in operating a secure and useful website, or compliance with law. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Cookies & analytics
zero1cine uses Google Analytics on the production website to understand audience size, page performance, and how visitors move through the site. Google Analytics may use first-party cookies, including a random browser identifier, and may receive page URLs, device and browser information, approximate location, and interaction events. We do not intentionally send names or email addresses to Google Analytics.
Google states that Analytics uses IP addresses at collection time to derive general location and discards them before the IP address is logged. Learn more about how Google uses information from partner sites and the Google Privacy Policy.
You can limit or delete cookies using your browser settings. Google also offers a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Newsletter
When you subscribe, zero1cine sends your name and email address to our self-hosted Ghost publishing system, where the newsletter member list is managed. Our email-delivery provider processes the information needed to send messages and handle delivery.
Newsletter data is used only for the subscription you requested. You can unsubscribe through the link in any newsletter or contact us to request deletion. We normally retain subscription records until you unsubscribe, request deletion, or they are no longer needed, subject to any legal record-keeping requirements.
Embedded & external services
Film and podcast pages may include media from YouTube, Vimeo, Spotify, or related hosting platforms. Loading or playing embedded media can allow that provider to receive your IP address, browser information, the page you visited, cookies, and interaction data. If you are signed in to that provider, the interaction may be associated with your account.
Submission links may open Google Forms, and social, donation, filmmaker, or listening links may take you to another website. Once you leave zero1cine, that provider controls its own data processing. Relevant notices include the Google Privacy Policy, Vimeo Privacy Policy, and Spotify Privacy Policy.
Sharing & transfers
We do not sell personal data. We share information only when necessary with service providers that help us host, secure, measure, and communicate through the website, or when required by law. These providers may include hosting, analytics, embedded-media, form, publishing, and email-delivery services.
Some providers may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where required, transfers should rely on an accepted legal safeguard, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.
Retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose described, to resolve disputes, maintain security, or meet legal obligations. Retention periods can differ by service. Security and server logs are kept for a limited operational period, while newsletter records follow the retention approach described above.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, European data-protection law may give you the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your personal data; to object to certain processing; and to withdraw consent.
Send a request to hello@zero1cine.com. We may need to confirm your identity before completing a request. You may also lodge a complaint with the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection or your local supervisory authority.
